Whew!

Well I had a "spot" in my breast that had to be checked...again. But today I received the "all clear" from my Dr.'s office. That's a relief.

One less thing to think about.

My sister Dusty came into town over the weekend.....we had a blast. Loved spending lots of quality time with the family. I even took her to her first gay bar! Whoopee!

Liz broke her finger

Lizzy broke her left pinkie finger. Not too badly....but it's broken. Her first injury ever...can you believe it? She broke it playing punt and pass at school.

What a week!

I have been absolutely swamped at work all week. I STILL have 9 emails in my inbox that require "action". I guess I need to earn my paycheck SOMETIMES huh? Haha...ok, I always do....but sometimes it's harder than others.

I'm trying REALLY hard to rid my house of the smell of Sophie pee. I realize every day when I walk into my house that I'm "that" pet owner whose puppy has pee'd all over and you know it when you walk in. Maybe I'm being a little dramatic...but it's not something I'm taking lying down...I'm GOING to rid my house of the smell!!! In more pet news....we are buying an outdoor chin link kennel or "dog run". It's 7.5' x 13.5' (so pretty big) ....we are buying it because Sophie jumped the fence this week and ran 2 blocks away. Jeff had to deal with the situation...I was at work but I assure you it was not a good one. Thanks to a stranger who grabbed her she did not get any further or worse...hit by a car. Sumo has also jumped the fence once ...but he did not run away he just stood there in our neighbors yard. Anyway, all week we have not let them out "to play" at all....they only get to go out on a leash to go to the bathroom. Jeff has also been walking them twice a day. Once we have this outdoor kennel, they can have a place to hang out outside and we will feel confident that they will not be escaping again. (The picture is Sumo saying "Hi Mom...pet me"

Chris is playing in his first Mac-N-Seitz tournament Sunday. We have 3 games....9am, 10:30am and 1pm. Unfortunately, there is only 1 team for us to play against...but at least we know we'll get 1st or 2nd! Haha....

One day ...my dream is to have a room all to myself for painting.....even if I go into it only 2-3 times a year....I want it.

New "do"

I got rid of about 2lbs of dead weight yesterday....ok, maybe thats a stretch but it was about 15" of hair!

I have a new "do"....I've gotten rave reviews so far....thank you Kitch! Pictures...someday...haha

So I just realized....

...how old I am getting. I DVR'd the "Video Music Awards" on MTV and I'm watching them right now. I have discovered how out of touch I am with current music! I have seriously fast forwarded most of this show without realizing it. This song "I kissed a girl and I liked it"...pretty much sucks in my opinion but everyone (including my own kids) think it's the cutest thing since BRATZ dolls.

So, I'm old...well getting there. So, I guess I listen to "oldies".......it's cool. I'm growing old gracefully, right?

Mac-N-Seitz

My son Chris tried out and made it onto the Mac-N-Seitz 8 year old baseball team! This is a competitive traveling team that is tough to get on. I'm reaaaaaaaaaaaaly proud of him!

What a sad day....

LeRoi Moore 1961-2008. He died yesterday due to complications from an ATV accident he was involved in last June. Dave Matthews Band will never be the same. I'm so sad.

7 Months 1 Week 5 Days 10 Hours

The above is how long I've gone without ONE SINGLE cigarette. Yes, it's still a big deal. I'll probably be doing this counting until my 10 year mark! 16 years of my life won't be erased in 7 months. Anyway, yeah for me. No desire to go back.

I have been on a "diet and fitness program" since August 1st. My trip to Vegas was the last straw of sorts on my weight. I know I'm not fat...I'm really not overweight but I'm unhappy with my physical state. I'm flabby and flappy. I started putting everything I eat into a website that tracks calories, carbs etc and I've been doing cardio 5 days a week and guess what....lifting weights 3 days a week! How strange is that? I've never lifted weights in my life. I've been really enjoying it though. Jewel is even on board with it. I've lost 1 1/4" on my waist since August 1st already.

We bought 2 cars and sold 2 cars in the last month. Jewels car broke down- we sold it and bought her another one ...a nice 1997 Buick LeSabre. It runs very well and is pretty too. We had to look at a LOT of junkers to get to this one. We sold the Sable (Jeffs car) and bought him a 2000 Ford Focus. We'll pay that off in 2 years (or less) and then maybe get him a nicer car. Until he's in the 4cyl. gas saver. I'm SO over looking at cars- and selling cars. 2 drives to Topeka for titles too!

Well the kids started school again- thankfully. It's been a great summer...but I think we were all ready for school to start again. I enjoy the schedule and I think the kids do too.

Chris is trying out for a VERY competitive traveling baseball team next weekend. They are called Mac-N-Seitz. It's run by 2 ex pro ball players and frankly, it's the best baseball club in Kansas City. A lot of kids try out...only a few get selected. He has been practicing a lot and he's really good for his age. That does not mean he'll make the team but we're rooting for him.
