Greensburg, KS

My family and I drove through Greensburg, KS over the weekend. The town is still in ruins. Here are some pictures I took. The water tower is gone....most homes are still gone. The legal buildings are boarded up and temporary trailers are set up. The hospital is made up of kaki military style tents. It was unbeliveable. I did not see a lot of people out and about, but they are clearly moving on and trying to rebuild. I even saw a sign that said "Greensburg, KS Thanks The World". I'm glad that Lizzy and Chris were able to see how much damage a tornado can actually do. It was really sad, but at the same time it was a learning experience. I remember spending time in Greensburg as a child- and the town does not resemble what I remember, but the spirit is still there.
